US News & World Report ประกาศผลอันดับมหาวิทยาลัยที่ดีที่สุดสำหรับปี ค.ศ. 2020 ที่เว็บไซต์ https://www.usnews.com/education โดยพิจารณาจากมหาวิทยาลัยทั่วโลกถึง 1,500 สถาบันชั้นนำใน 81 ประเทศ โดยเพิ่มขึ้นจาก 75 ประเทศเมื่อปีที่แล้ว
อันดับ 1-3 ของโลก มาจากสหรัฐอเมริกา 1. Harvard University (U.S.) 2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (U.S.)
3. Stanford University (U.S.)
ส่วนทวีปเอเชีย มหาวิทยาลัยจากประเทศสิงคโปร์ ครองอันดับสูงสุด 1. National University of Singapore 2. Tsinghua University (China) 3. Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
ด้านประเทศไทย “จุฬาฯและมหิดล” คะแนนเท่ากันจึงได้ครองอันดับ 1 ร่วมกัน โดยมีมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ตามมาเป็นอันดับ 3 ของประเทศ
